MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 26, 2000 <br />SETBACK <br />ENCROACH- <br />MENTS <br />SINIS <br />STOP SIGN <br />PLACEMENT <br />*APPROVING PAY REQUESTS Na 1 AND NO. 2 FOR THE <br />PIONEER PARK BALLFIELD LIGHTING PROJECT; <br />*APPROVING THE DESIGNATION OF AMERICAN AGENCY AS <br />THE CITY'S INSURANCE CARRIER; <br />*APPROVING THE 1999 PAY EQUITY REPORT AS <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR; <br />*APPROVING THE ASSESSMENT REAPPORTIONMENT FOR <br />THE LITTLE CANADA MALL PROPERTY AS RECOMMENDED BY <br />CITY STAFF; <br />*APPROVING THE POSTING OF THE PROVINCES PAYMENT IN <br />LIEU OF TAXES AS RECOMMENDED BY CITY STAFF; <br />*APPROVING PAYMENT OF THE VOUCHERS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />The City Planner reported that the Planning Commission has <br />recommended that the City Council call for a public hearing to <br />consider clarification of allowable setback encroachments. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -1 -32 - CALLING FORA PUBLIC HEARING <br />FOR WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2000 TO CONSIDER <br />CLARIFICATION OF THE ISSUE OF ALLOWABLE SETBACK <br />ENCROACHMENTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Fahey, Scalze, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator reviewed his report relative to stop sign <br />placement and the rational for the signs at Jackson/Lake Streets, <br />Demont/Viking Drive, and DeSoto /Allen Avenue. <br />Fahey pointed out that the stop sign at Jackson and Lake Streets was <br />installed in 1995 and its placement re- evaluated after the road <br />improvements in this area had been in place for a year.
