C. Performance Standards. <br />The Contractor shall supply all labor, material, and equipment necessary for the <br />carrying.out of this Contract. <br />Equipment <br />a. Vehicle Protection. All trucks or motor vehicles used by the Contractor <br />shall be water -tight so as not to allow the leakage of liquids or refuse <br />while hauling the same and shall be covered to prevent the scattering of <br />its contents upon the public streets or private properties in the City. <br />Should any garbage be dropped or spilled in collection or transporting, it <br />shall be immediately cleaned up. A broom and shovel shall be carried on <br />each vehicle at all times for this purpose. <br />b. Cleaning. All vehicles shall be kept in a clean and sanitary condition. <br />c. Painting. The packer body shall be painted and numbered, and shall <br />have the Contractor's name and telephone number painted in letters of a <br />contrasting color, at least three inches (3 ") high, on each side of the <br />vehicle and the number painted or a decal placed on the rear. <br />d. Maintenance. The trucks shall be maintained in good working order. <br />They shall be equipped to meet all federal, state, and municipal <br />regulations concerning vehicles used on public roads and maintained to <br />meet these standards. <br />e. Vehicle Inspection. All vehicles used in the performance of this <br />Contract shall be made available for inspection at least once each year. <br />However, if a vehicle has been inspected and approved by another city <br />or governmental agency within the previous twelve (12) months, no <br />additional inspection shall be required. <br />f. Description of Vehicles. The Contractor shall furnish the City with a <br />written description of all vehicles and equipment to be used within the <br />City of Little Canada and in the performance of this Contract. The <br />Contractor shall advise the City in writing of any withdrawal of a part of <br />such equipment or of any change therein within one (I) week of the time <br />of making such change. <br />g. <br />Safety Equipment. Each collection vehicle shall have a flashing light <br />warning system, fire extinguisher (CO2 type), proper backup alarms as <br />approved by the City, and otherwise shall comply with all State and <br />Federal inspections and safety requirements. <br />-12- <br />13 <br />
