• MSFC- 315.2.1 Ceiling clearance. Storage shall be maintained 2 feet (610 mm) <br />or more below the ceiling in nonsprinklered areas of buildings. <br />• MSFC- 315.2.2 Means of egress. Combustible materials shall not be stored in <br />exits or exit enclosures. <br />City of Little Canada Ordinances <br />2001.010. ADOPTION OF FIRE CODE. The City Council of the City of Little Canada <br />hereby adopts the 2007 Minnesota State Fire Code for the purpose of prescribing <br />regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion. <br />The adoption of the2007 Minnesota State Fire Code includes the adoption of all <br />amendments adopted from time to time. The 2007 Minnesota State Fire Code is hereby <br />incorporated in this ordinance as if fully set out herein. <br />City of Little Canada Ordinance 2001.110. PENALTIES. <br />(A) Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this Code hereby adopted or <br />fail to comply therewith, or who shall violate or fail to comply with any order made <br />thereunder, or who shall build in violation of any detailed statement of specifications or <br />plans submitted and approved thereunder, or any certificate or permit issued thereunder, <br />and from which no appeal has been taken, or who shall fail to comply with such an order <br />as affirmed or modified by the City Council or by a Court of competent jurisdiction, <br />within the time fixed herein, shall severally for each and every such 'violation and non- <br />compliance respectively, be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not <br />exceeding Three Hundred Dollars (5300.00) and by imprisonment for a period not <br />exceeding ninety (90) days. The imposition of one penalty for any violation shall not <br />excuse the violation or permit it to continue; and all such persons shall be required to <br />correct or remedy such violations or defects within a reasonable time; and when not <br />otherwise specified, each day that prohibited conditions are maintained shall constitute a <br />separate offense. <br />(B) The application of the above penalty shall not be held to prevent the enforced <br />removal of prohibited conditions. <br />The City of Little Canada requests your cooperation to take the necessary corrective <br />action to address these violations immediately. To resolve, this issue you must: <br />• Clean and organize unit so as to ensure the following is established and <br />maintained. Storage of items shall be done in established areas (closets and <br />cupboards) and not haphazardly throughout the unit. <br />• Remove excessive storage of combustibles and waste from the unit by either <br />disposal or storage in another location that complies with the fire code and ensure <br />adequate means of ingress /egress are maintained in the unit. <br />• Do not allow excessive storage of combustible materials in the unit. <br />• Maintain the storage in the unit in a manner a reasonable person would find <br />acceptable. <br />• Provide expectable means of egress. <br />4 <br />
