Option B
As a response to some of the issues raised with our preferred garage placement we have
sat down with the city planner to come up with viable options. This is what we agreed
upon as the best option.
In this option we would keep the garage on the south side and utilize the Mitchell Trail
access as requested by the city /city planner to utilize the public access. However in this
option we would have the garage placed facing west with the garage doors facing west.
The garage is the proposed size of 24' by 40' and would still require the variance.
However due to this placement we could put a sidewalk at the north end of the driveway
to allow access to the front door. This placement would be agreeable because:
• Would be utilizing Mitchell Trail as required by city
• Would give full access back to north driveway back to 3248 Twin Lake Rd
• Would still allow a reasonable access to our front entry than other options
• Would not block 3248 Twin Lake Rd's view of lake
• Still allow us to fit our vehicles and boat in as originally planned
What we would be sacrificing:
• Access to front door location is not ideal
• Different design from approved houseplan /siteplan in 2006
• New garage would cover 2 or more of our windows - which results in less light
and aesthetics /view.
• Much more difficult to place vehicles and boat in.
• More asphalt resulting in more costs to project
