Hanson <br />As requested by the Council, I looked into the feasibility of adding a right turn lane from <br />Country Drive onto Little Canada Road to ease traffic congestion at this intersection. <br />As you know, Country Drive provides two of the only three entrances /exits for Ryan Industrial <br />Park and Yorkton Industrial area. During both morning and evening rush hours, traffic backs up <br />650 feet along Country Drive. Based on this, it is my opinion that a right turn lane is warranted. <br />The estimated cost to construct a 12 -foot wide, 650' long turning lane ranges from about $23,000 <br />to $28,000. The cost may increase some as right -of -way needs are clarified. <br />I recommend that the Council authorize the City Engineer to proceed with preparation of <br />plans, specifications, and a construction cost estimate for this right turn lane. <br />GS:kp <br />Enclosure <br />Page 108 <br />
