MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
AUGUST 12, 1999
Stanke again noted that the cost of paving the site will be
approximately $10,000, and he will have the blacktopping,
striping, and curbing installed by mid - September. Therefore, he
would like a time extension for completion of landscape screening
and fencing until next summer. Stanke reported that he has
recently incurred expense in re- siding and re- roofing the building.
Montour also noted that the paving should have been completed
quite some time ago.
Kraemer recommended denial of the Variance from the forty (40)
foot required front yard setback to a twenty -eight (28) foot front
yard setback to accommodate exterior storage at 209 Ryan Drive
as requested by Roger Stanke based on the finding that no hardship
exists to justify granting of the Variance.
Motion seconded by Montour.
Motion carried 4 — 0.
Kraemer recommended approval of the Conditional Use Permit for
open and outdoor storage of equipment and materials as an
accessory use at 209 Ryan Drive as requested by Roger Stanke
subject to compliance with the recommendations of the Zoning
Administrator, with approval of the use of evergreen as a screening
material subject to compliance with Code requirements, and
subject to submission of a revised site plan as well as a schedule of
target dates for completion of Code requirements prior to the City
Council meeting on August 25, 1999.
Motion seconded by Montour.
Motion carried 4 — 0.
Duray pointed out that many of the businesses in Ryan Industrial
Park have been there for many years and also noted that may of the
buildings are uniquely laid out on their lots. Given those lay outs,
it appears that meeting parking requirements may be difficult.
Duray stated that it appears the property owners in the Park are
willing to work with the City and try to get their businesses back
up to Code. In cases where a property owner needs a little more
time, than Duray felt the City should work with that property
owner.
Page 142
