515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: August 20, 1999
RE: Precision Tree Property Acquisition Update
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaVaile
Steve Moreton
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
I have continued my meetings with the owners of Precision Tree regarding the voluntary
sale of their property associated with the Country Drive redevelopment project. The key
issue we have been dealing with is their ability to relocate to another site within the City.
I am exploring the possibility of acquisition of two sites that they have expressed interest
in that are owned by Richard Schrier (see map attached). I would like the Council's input
on these sites given Precision Tree's need for outdoor storage and in conjunction with the
I -P Zoning District.
I have informed Mack and Chris Groholski that to meet the requirements of our
Development Agreement with Mr. Biagini, we will need to determine by August 25th
whether a voluntary sale of this property is possible. If not, we would have to authorize
the commencement of eminent domain proceedings in order to meet the timeline for
property transfer spelled out in the development agreement. I am attempting to have this
matter resolved by Wednesday's meeting.
cc: Mac and Chris Groholski
Page 166
