The landscape plan indicates that each individual office unit will have a 24" by 30" sign <br />marking their entrance. A pylon sign of 64 square feet would identify the office <br />development. Although pylon signs are allowed in commercial areas along Rice Street, <br />staff would encourage consideration of a monument style sign. Such signs are preferred <br />by the Design Guidelines for all commercial areas, and would be particularly appropriate <br />for office development. Regardless, the sign display should be lit externally or consist of <br />individually lit letters. Detail on the sign package should be submitted as soon as possible. <br />With the condition that the "optional" landscape elements are included in the project, sign <br />details are submitted, and consideration is given to a monument sign as opposed to a <br />pylon sign, planning staff recommends approval of the Final Plat, Final PUD, and design <br />review for Blacktern Office Park.
