515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538
April 23, 1999
Honorable Susan Banovetz, Mayor
City of Vadnais Heights
687 County Road F East
Vadnais Heights, MN 55127
RE: Water Main in the Twin Lake Area
Dear Mayor Banovetz:
MAYOR
Michael L Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Please be advised that the City of Little Canada would support the extension of your water
system to serve our residents in the Twin Lake area. While we could extend our water system
under Interstate 694, financial feasibility would seem to dictate it would be more advantageous
for your City to serve this area. Based upon the attached drawing proposed by Chuck Plowe,
P.E., if appears water main in this area would also serve to provide a loop to your system that
could serve the Five Star Estates Mobile Home Park. It may also address the potential concerns
with the Mitchell Preserve property and the pending subdivision of the Twin Lake Pines area.
We understand your city is undertaking a comprehensive water study. We would ask that you
include this portion of Little Canada in the study. If a looped system is feasible from a physical
and financial standpoint, we are prepared to initiate the public improvement process with our
residents.
Thank you for your attention to our request. Should you have any comments or questions
regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Michael I. Fahey
Mayor
MIF:kpp
Page 102
