We have experienced some difficulties that have required our immediate attention. The purpose of this letter is to make everyone completely clear of our intentions and to give everyone a complete picture of our company and us. Swift Towing Inc. was founded in January 1999 with the merger of Stypa Towing Inc. and Gruett Towing Inc. Stypa Towing was started in 1997 and Gruett Towing was originally started in 1973. The owners of Swift towing Inc. are George and Shanda Stypa and Jared and Sara Gruett. George and Shanda are from Arizona; they completed their BS degrees at the University of Arizona and moved to Minnesota to work on their Masters degrees at the University of Minnesota. George attends part time in the education program and works full time at Swift Towing Inc. Shanda attends part time in the psychology program as well as being a full time mom. They have three children and are active members of their church, St. Agnes in St. Paul. Jared is from Minneapolis and Sara is from White Bear Lake, Jared graduated from Mpis. Roosevelt and attended Normandaie Community College and Winona St. University he also spent 8 years as an E.M.T. / Medical Specialist in the Minnesota and Indiana National Guard. Now works full time at Swift Towing Inc. Sara graduated from White Bear Lake Sr. High and attended the Aveda Institute and now works part time cutting children's hair and is a full time mom. Jared and Sara have 1 child and are expecting another in August. They have deep roots in this and surrounding communities, Jared's grandfather Arne Gruett owned and operated Arne's Mobil on Hwy 61 in White Bear Lake for many years. His parents built a home in Hugo and are active in local politics. Sara is a member of the Valenta family, which has contributed much to this community for generations. We think that this information is pertinent because we feel that the resistance to our proposal is partially based on the performance and or appearance of other auto related businesses in this industrial park. We know that if you take the time to hear us out and get to know us as businessmen and women you will feel differently. Our requests are within any reasonable expectations for use of land in this area, we feel that no one could reasonably suggest and/or argue that these requests are out of step, given the type of businesses surrounding this property.
