515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, Deputy Clerk
DATE: January 8, 1999
RE: Vacancy on the Parks & Recreation Commission
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMIMSI RATOR
Joel R Hanson
Roger Christiansen announced his resignation from the Parks & Recreation Commission
at its January meeting. Roger is resigning due to the fact that he and his family are
moving out of the City.
As you will recall, the City advertised Parks & Recreation Commission vacancies during
the month of November. The Council then made appointments at its December 17th
meeting. The City received four applications for the Parks & Rec Commission. Three
were from incumbents and one application was received from David Gray. (See
attached.)
The Council has two options. It can appoint Mr. Gray to the Commission at this time, or
it can readvertise the vacancy. Please note that Mr. Gray was interviewed by the Parks &
Recreation Director and the Chair of the Commission, and I have included a copy of the
memo which contains their comments.
Page 117
