To: Joel Hanson
From: Muriel Bianchi
Re: LC Playground Project
Oct. 7, 1998
An underground drainage replacement project for the playground area is scheduled to be done
as soon as possible because the school considers this a safety issue. The Roseville School
District and Little Canada School will be funding the project, as their part in the Playground
Project. Cost is approximately $5,000 - $6,000. A catch basin and pipe will be installed to handle
water run -off and some paving will also be done.
The Playground Project includes:
1. Blacktop existing play area and extend new play area Approximately $12,000
2. Purchase and install 4 new heavy -duty basketball
standards, suitable for use by children and adults
@ $1905 each.
7,620
3. Miscellaneous items, such as heavy duty trash cans,
signs posting rules and hours, removal of stumps, and
re- striping of blacktop. 1,000
TOTAL $20,620
Little Canada PTSA Donation: 6,000
Little Canada Charities Plus Donation: 6,000
Amount requested from the City of L:ittle Canada Approximately $8,620
The additional expense in the proposal is due to the selection of a higher grade basketball
standard which can be used by all ages of children and adults. The committee felt due to the
open use of the basketball court by the community, a sturdier, more durable , and larger
standard was in order.
If you have any questions or need further information, please contact me.
Thank you for your cooperation with this project. I'll see you at the Council meeting on the 14th
of October.
Muriel Bianchi
Page 35
