10. MacQueen and Vactor offer a three -day school on the "Vactor" (two actual full days with
hands on our truck) to train operators and service technicians on the correct use and
service of this machine. This class is given at the factory on our machine before delivery.
MacQueen is also considering an annual seminar on the use and operations of the
"Vactor ".
11. The "Vactor" has many other unique features that the other manufacturers do not offer.
We feel this is a far superior piece of equipment and should give us excellent service for
20+ years.
12. "Vactor" is the preferred brand in other cities (Forest Lake, Stillwater, Vadnais Heights,
South St. Paul, North St. Paul, Roseville, Maplewood and St. Paul) in our area. It is
highly recommended by them over the competitors.
Therefore, we recommend the City purchase the "Vactor" unit at a total price of $201,054
(includes trade -in on our jetter). Because we are using the State bid, no other bidding or notice is
necessary. If we order now, we can expect delivery by February, 1999. The source of funding is
the Water and Sewer Capital Replacement Fund.
Page 46
