IS Castle Inspection Service <br />• <br />A Division of Castle Companies Inc. <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Kathy Glanzer, Administrative Assistant <br />Charles Meyer, applicant <br />Floss: Greg Schmit, Building Official <br />1440IJnwoud Croix <br />MapJrwood ACV 55119 <br />DAn: September 21, 1998 <br />Suarur- Proposed garage to be moved 10 2900 Edgerton <br />1 have not personally inspected the garage structure however based on the photographs supplied to me I would make . <br />the following comments. <br />The Uniform Building Code Section 3404 states that "buildings or structures moved into or within the Jurisdiction <br />shall comply with the provisions of refs code for new buildings or srruawrs " More specifically, some Of 1118 items <br />winch from the photos appear to be deficient are: <br />• All bottom plates must be treated or a naturally decay resistant wood. - UBC sect. 2317.4. <br />• Much of the siding appears to be water damaged and possibly rotted. <br />• A minimum of 1/2" anchor bolts must be installed at 6' o.c. and 12" from the ends of each plate with a mfnimtun <br />of 2 per plate. - UBC sect. 1806.6. <br />• Verify that the span, grade, and species of the roof rafters is adequate to support tho intended 30 lb./sq. ft. live load <br />requirement. - UBC acct. 2326.12.2. <br />• Collar tics or ceiling Joists must be provided at a minimum spacing of 4' o.c. - UBC acct. 2326.12.6. <br />• Automatic garage door opener must comply with the safety requirements of Minnesota Statutes sect 32517.82. <br />End of Comments <br />PAom: dSJ.7J1488r Mar. 6$1402-9364 <br />Page 1 <br />
