Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Moreton
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Please find attached for your consideration the proposed resolution for the turn-backs of County Road B2
from Edgerton Street to Arcade Street, Flower Street (B2) from Rice Street to Viking Drive, and Twin
Lake Boulevard from the Vadnais Heights/Little Canada border on the west to the Vadnais Heights /Little
Canada border on the east. Our adoption of this resolution will be consistent with past approvals
governing the overall functional consolidation of roadway program.
It should be noted that the County has upgraded the work to be done on County Road B2 from Edgerton
to Arcade by adding it to the recycle program versus a patch and sealcoat that was previously stated. As
has been mentioned earlier, the County will be undertaking some significant drainage improvements in
this area as well as additional drainage corrections on County Road B2 on the west side of I35. Twin
Lake Boulevard was recycled in 1992 and is not in need of any attention at this time. As you will recall,
these street will automatically go on our Municipal State Aid (MSA) system and increase our annual
allotments of these funds. We will be plowing these roadways in the winter of 1998/99.
By copy of this letter, I am also notifying the residents along County Road B2 from Edgerton to Arcade
of this action. We had a neighborhood meeting with these people on the ls` of September. They were
brought up -to -date with the corrections proposed and they raised some additional issues which are being
evaluated by the appropriate agencies. (I will be presenting further action items for your consideration on
this topic at a future meeting.) A copy of the neighborhood meeting minutes is enclosed for your review.
It is my recommendation that we adopt the resolution as proposed. It is essential to do it at this time
because our inaction would impact other jurisdictions within Ramsey County who are also waiting to
have their resolutions processed in ajoint proposed. Should you have any comments or questions on this
topic, please let me know.
JRH:kpv
cc: County Road B2 Residents
Tim Mayasich, Ramsey County Public Works
Terry Maurer, City Engineer
Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director
Page 42
