MINUTES
CITY COMIC=
AUGUST 25, 1993
consumption, and a particular fenced -in area has been
designated for this activity.
LaVaile pointed out that these restrictions do not
allow people to bring in their own alcohol and they
must purchase it from the property owner. LaVaile
reported that Gordies does not allow someone to bring
their own alcohol onto the property since they are in
the business of selling alcohol.
Scalze pointed out that a bar owner would have to
control the situation just from a liability standpoint.
Scalze asked what other cities are doing in this
matter.
Morelan asked if turf restoration was a requirement of
a fill permit.
The. City Administrator replied that turf restoration is
required after filling is completed. The Administrator
pointed out that according to the comments made at the
Planning Commission meeting, the property owner will
address the turf restoration issue.
Upon motion by LaVaile, seconded by Morelan, the public
hearing was. closed.
Morelan asked about the effect on required parking.
The City Planner reported that based on the building
size, 35 to 40 parking spaces are required on the site,
and it appears that this requirement is met.
Scalze pointed out that the City received three letters
from property owners at Fleur Royal expressing concern
about the noise at Gordies.
Pedersen pointed out that the complaints received were
noise related from activities in the parking lot and
not the volleyball court.
Hanson indicated that if adjacent property owners have
complaints about noise, they should contact the
Sheriff's Department. Morelan pointed out that at the
Planning Commission meeting Mr. Cossack invited anyone
with noise complaints to contact him and he would take
care of the problem. Morelan indicated that when he
observed a volleyball game at Gordies the other
evening, it was really very quiet.
Pedersen asked about landscaping.
Page 13
