-1-
Mr. 'Mayor and City Council:
I'm here to support the goose round -up program that was started
last year.
In our neighborhood, it is an on going problem with having to
clean sidewalks and our driveway every day. Many times, the
traffic on Little Canada Rd. has to come to a halt because the
geese being in the street. They, often times, are crossing the
street thru the Barrieau and Kimmes property to get to the water
works.
In our yard, they are pulling up our grass by the roots and as
soon as we plant more grass seed, they are right there to eat
it.
Two weeks ago, we babysat our 4 year old granddaughter. We
took her to the play area at St. John's School, by the time we
got there, our shoes were full of goose droppings. We took a
different route home and she happened to fall and got up full
of goose droppings on her legs, knees and elbows.
Shortly after that we were: notified of a petition to save the
geese, so we started a petition to keep the goose round -up in
action.
I went to see the priest at St. John's Church, and he was very
happy to sign our petition.
I went to see my neighbors and they are in the same situation
we are in and were happy to sign our petition.
-2- After looking across our pond, we realized that residents on
that side have long back yards and their houses sit on top of
a hill and the geese never get up there..
Page 21
