G-18-1998 3:55PM <br />FROM SWEENEY LAW FIRM 2235289 P.3 <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br />OF THE 'CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />RESOLUTION INITIATING ACQUISITION <br />ire Aiw2M2tic 32eYe12Qmat Aiith2&itY wt the city wt <br />Little Canada has determined that there is a need for acquisition <br />by the Authority of property located at 2822/2826 Rice Street, <br />Little Canada, Minnesota, also known as the Guerin Property, and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the public interest and will <br />further the Authority's general plan of economic development to <br />acquire fee title to the Guerin Property, and <br />WHEREAS, it may be impossible to acquire said property by <br />purchase or negotiation, and. <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Chapters 469 and 117 and other <br />authority grant the Economic Development Authority of the City of <br />Little Canada authority to acquire private property for public <br />purposes when necessary, and <br />WHEREAS, said acquisition by the Economic Development <br />Authority of the City of Little Canada shall be subject to and <br />conditioned upon all applicable requirements of the Uniform <br />Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act <br />of 1970 and Minnesota Statutes Section 117.52. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners <br />of the Economic Development Authority of the City of Little <br />Canada that the Executive Director of the Authority or his <br />authorized representative is authorized to commence the necessary <br />steps to acquire fee title to said property by purchase, <br />negotiation, and eminent domain. This grant of authority is <br />expressly subject to the requirements of the Uniform Relocation <br />Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 and <br />Minnesota Statutes Section 117.52. <br />1 <br />Page 129 <br />
