NATOA GPA Award Presentation for "The Carp Project" <br />Little Canada cable television producer Vanessa Van Alstine <br />brought together CTV North Suburbs, the Ramsey - Washington <br />Metro Watershed District and the University of Minnesota to <br />create a video about the carp research that has been done in the <br />Phalen chain of lakes and Lake Gervais. "The Carp Project" video <br />was awarded 3rd place in the "Documentary- Profile" category of <br />the 26th Annual Government Programming Awards, held by <br />NATOA, the National Association of Telecommunications <br />Officers and Advisors. <br />This awards program honors excellence in broadcast, cable, <br />multimedia and electronic programming produced by local <br />government agencies. In 2011, NATOA received more than 740 <br />entries throughout 67 categories from local governments across the <br />US and Canada. The main people involved in making the project <br />happen were, from CTV North Suburbs cameraperson and editor <br />Ben Hanson and production assistant Jason Schneider; from the <br />Ramsey - Washington Metro Watershed District, Administrator <br />Cliff Aichinger, Watershed Education Specialist Sage Passi, and <br />Natural Resources Specialist Bill Bartodziej; from the University <br />of Minnesota Professor Peter Sorensen and his lab, and from the <br />City of Little Canada, Cable Television Producer Vanessa Van <br />Alstine. Thanks to Shannon Hunter from CTV North Suburbs for <br />overseeing the awards entries and providing copies of the award <br />plaque for display at the City of Little Canada and the Ramsey - <br />Washington Metro Watershed District. <br />
