Minnesota Statutes 1997 Supplement, section <br />18 349.12, subdivision 25, is amended to read: <br />19 Subd. 25. [LAWFUL PURPOSE.) (a) "Lawful purpose" means one <br />20 or more of the following: <br />21 (1) any expenditure by or contribution to a 501(c)(3) or <br />22 festival organization, as defined in subdivision 15a, provided <br />23 that the organization and expenditure or contribution are in <br />24 conformity with standards prescribed by the board under section <br />25 349.154, which standards must apply to both types of <br />26 organizations in the same manner and to the same extent; <br />27 (2) a contribution to an individual or family suffering <br />28 from poverty, homelessness, or physical or mental disability, <br />29 which is used to relieve the effects of that poverty, <br />30 homelessness, or disability; <br />Section 1 <br />Page 95 <br />
