MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 27, 2026 <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The Assistant City Administrator stated that the following day, the city is hosting the monthly <br />Community Connection Series at 6 p.m. at the Hmong Community Center. She commented that <br />food will be available and a project will be provided for children who attend. The City of Little <br />Canada and iBall4Life are hosting an open gym on June 111" at Little Canada Elementary, starting <br />at 6:30 p.m., and registration is available online. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />None. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />The Community Development Director stated that City staff have been working with Lupe <br />Development for the last three years on a proposed senior multifamily housing project to be <br />located at 99 County Road B in Little Canada. As part of this process, the City of Little Canada is <br />asked to serve as the "Governmental Lender" to utilize its tax-exempt bonding authority to issue <br />revenue obligations (bonds) in the aggregate principal amount of up to $17,000,000 for the <br />project. The Little Canada Senior Housing Project will consist of an approximately 106-unit <br />multifamily housing development for low- and moderate -income senior households. <br />Mayor Fischer recognized that the city has followed this process multiple times in the past. <br />Malone asked if there were other outstanding revenue notes of the same nature. The Community <br />Development Director replied that the City has historically issued similar notes and provided two <br />examples of developments that are outstanding, as they are multi -year payments. He explained <br />that this does not impact the City's ability to bond for its own projects. <br />Mayor Fischer opened the public hearing for comments from the general public. <br />There were no comments from the public. Upon motion by Kwa pick, seconded by Miller, the <br />public hearing was closed. Ayes (5). Nays (0).
