515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600 <br />Main Phone: (651) 766-4029 <br />www.littlecanadamn.org <br />MAYOR <br />Tom Fischer <br />COUNCIL <br />Chris Kwapick <br />Angie Malone <br />Dave Miller <br />PROCLAMATION <br />Police Week in Ramsey County <br />May 11-16, 2026 <br />WHEREAS, In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers <br />Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week; and <br />WHEREAS, There are approximately 900,000 law enforcement officers serving in <br />communities across the United States, including the dedicated members of the Ramsey County <br />Sheriff’s Office; and <br />WHEREAS, uniformed Patrol Sworn Staff dedicated to the contract cities include Deputies, <br />including K9 handlers and their K9 Partners, patrol shifts, school resource officers, and water patrol <br />deputies; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Criminal Investigative Unit contains sworn investigators <br />including dedicated sex crimes investigator, Civilian Analysts/support staff and the Electronic Crimes <br />Unit; and <br />WHEREAS, National Police Week pays special recognition to law enforcement officers who <br />have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others; and <br />WHEREAS, The service and sacrifice of Ramsey County suburban law enforcement officers who <br />died in the line of duty will be honored during the Ramsey County Suburban Law Enforcement <br />Memorial Ceremony on May 14th, 2026; <br />Now, Therefore, Be It PROCLAIMED, The City of Little Canada City Council recognizes May <br />11 - 16, 2026 as Police Week in Little Canada, Minnesota, and publicly salutes the service of law <br />enforcement officers in our community and in communities across the nation. <br />By: <br /> Thomas Fischer, Mayor <br />Attested: ____________________________ <br /> Bryce Shearen, City Administrator
