CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2026-6-XX <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR METRO TRANSIT’S REGIONAL SOLICITATION <br />FUNDING APPLICATION FOR METRO MICRO ON-DEMAND TRANSIT SERVICE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Metro Transit operates Metro Micro, an on-demand public transit service designed <br />to offer flexible, microtransit options to local communities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Metro Transit is preparing an application for funding through the Metropolitan <br />Council’s Regional Solicitation program for service operating out of the Little Canada Transit <br />Station; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed Metro Micro service zone will operate within the city limits of Little <br />Canada and will provide critical first- and last-mile connections to and from the northern terminus <br />of the upcoming METRO G Line; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the expansion of Metro Micro service will enhance local public transportation <br />options, increase equity and accessibility, and improve regional connectivity for Little Canada <br />residents, workers, and visitors; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a formal resolution of support from the host municipality strengthens the competitive <br />standing of the funding application due to the Metropolitan Council by the end of June 2026. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Little <br />Canada; that <br />1. The City Council hereby expresses its full support for Metro Transit’s application to the <br />Metropolitan Council’s Regional Solicitation program to fund and implement Metro <br />Micro on-demand transit service within the City of Little Canada. <br /> <br />2.
