Hanson Thirteen applications were received for the position of Public Works Director. We initially interviewed five candidates (the sixth withdrew from the interview process), and the three finalists were interviewed by Mayor Fahey, Council Member Morelan, and me on Monday evening. It was the consensus of our group to recommend Greg Schroeder be hired as Public Works Director. It is my recommendation he be hired based on the following: • Salary Range of: Start 1 2 3 4 5 50,986 53,356 55,865 58,492 61,241 64,043 • Starting salary of $60,000 payable through 1999; • One week of accrued vacation at the start of employment, eligibility for one week's additional vacation (available to department heads subject to satisfactory performance) on 1/1/99 and each year thereafter, and normal accrual of vacation based on two weeks per year (1 -5 years) as outlined in our Personnel Policy; • Ten days of sick leave banked at the start of employment, and accrual at the rate of one day per month as outlined in our Personnel Policy; • The City would pay memberships in customary associations; • The assignment of a take -home vehicle for business use only (versus mileage) subject to further analysis of vehicle assignment; • One month's severance pay should City terminate his employment as was provided for in the previous Public Works Director's employment agreement; • Subject to execution of an employment agreement outlining the terms above as well as other customary language; • Subject to a satisfactory physical examination.
