1103. LIVESTOCK <br />1103.010. PURPOSE. It is intended by the Council that Little <br />Canada, consisting of slightly more than four (4) sections of land, <br />having been totally rezoned to uses for residences, commercial and <br />industrial purposes, and containing no area classified as farm <br />land, deems this Ordinance necessary and vital in order to maintain <br />the suburban, non - agricultural character of the City. <br />1103.020. UNLAWFUL KEEPING. It shall be unlawful for any <br />person to keep, raise, breed or feed livestock more specifically <br />set forth as cows, steers, cattle of any kind, sheep, goats, lambs, <br />pigs, or any other domesticated farm animal raised and /or <br />maintained for food, produce, breeding, dairying, or other <br />recognized farm income livestock operation in the City, except as <br />hereinafter provided. <br />1103.030. PERMIT REQUIRED. In order to keep, raise, breed or <br />feed any kind of livestock within the City limits, a permit shall <br />first be obtained from the City Council. Application for permit <br />shall be made to the City Administrator and such application shall <br />set forth: <br />(a) Name and address of applicant; <br />(b) Legal description of property upon which livestock are to <br />be kept; <br />(c) Complete description of facilities on the premises, <br />including source of water supply, kind of soil, <br />comprehensive data as to drainage, and location of all <br />residences within 500 feet radius of proposed livestock. <br />The applicant shall pay to the City the sum of Fifty Dollars <br />($50.00) which sum shall be deposited with the City Administrator <br />at the time of making application for permit and shall be deemed <br />the first annual license fee. <br />1103.040. LICENSE FEE. Any person keeping livestock within <br />the City shall pay an annual license fee of Twenty Five Dollars <br />($25.00) and this fee shall not be pro rated for any reason and the <br />license year shall be concurrent with the calendar year, renewal <br />being due on or before January 10th of each year. <br />1103.050. BOARD OF HEALTH SUPERVISION. The City Board of <br />Health shall supervise all livestock operations within the City and <br />promulgate rules and regulations governing such operation which <br />rules shall include size and design of buildings, runway, feeding <br />platforms, sanitary regulations and any other provisions determined <br />necessary to accomplish proper protection for the public in the <br />administration of this Code. Any person who keeps, raises, breeds <br />or feeds livestock in violation of this Code shall be guilty of a <br />misdemeanor. <br />Page 13 <br />
