Highlights from <br />Little Canada City Code Section <br />Prohibiting Discharges <br />Into the Sanitary Sewer System <br />• PURPOSE — To prohibit clear water discharges to the <br />sanitary sewer. <br />• PROHIBITED DISCHARGES — Drainage from roof, <br />surface, groundwater sump pump, footing tile, swimming <br />pool, or natural precipitation. <br />• REQUIRES — That all sump pumps must have a <br />permanently installed, rigid pipe (PVC type) discharge line <br />which shall not enter the sanitary sewer at any time. <br />• REQUIRES — Disconnection of clear water sources. <br />• REQUIRES — Inspection by a City employee or authorized <br />representative. <br />• PENALTY — Non - compliance will result in a surcharge of <br />$100 per month added to the home's sewer bill. <br />• FUTURE INSPECTIONS — Sump pump connections will <br />be re- inspected periodically. The $100 surcharge will be <br />applied retroactively, for all months since the previous <br />inspection, to homes where connections are found to be in <br />violation of the Code. <br />Page 96 <br />
