<br />On June 11, the coalition met in person in New Brighton with all member cities' mayors and <br />Administrators/Managers. The group discussed the effectiveness of Phase I, the benefit the <br />cities received, and the power of the group representing such a large population in Minnesota. <br /> <br />The group discussed and agreed upon to the organizational structure of Phase II identified <br />above, keeping the coalition narrowly focused on federal-nexus emergencies, maintaining <br />informal networks for broader information-sharing, and preserve bipartisan credibility so the <br />group remains effective when elevated response is required. All cities at the meeting <br />(approximately 26) expressed interest to continue with Phase II participation (pending council <br />approvals). <br /> Strategic Priority: <br />N/A <br /> <br />Source Of Funds: <br />Joining the Cities for Safe and Stable Communities coalition has a cost of $30,000 total <br />(equally split between all participating cities) and is an initial 12-month contract. It is <br />estimated at this time, the cost for Little Canada would be $1,500 for the initial 12-month year. <br /> <br />The structure and funding would be reviewed on an annual basis. At this time, the city has not <br />budgeted funds specifically for this, but the general fund balance or the Contingency Fund <br />could be used. <br /> <br />Participation would occur on an “all in/all out” basis during baseline operations.
