[Janson <br />Based on direction provided by the Council at our last meeting, staff contacted Mark <br />Nagel regarding his availability for the 2013 Goal Setting Session. The l4°1 & 15°' of <br />January did not work for him. The 16°1 does work for him, but our Finance Director has <br />another commitment that evening that she can't change. I believe it would be good for <br />her to participate in this session. Therefore, I am requesting we consider another date. <br />Based on Mr. Nagel's availability, an additional option would he Tuesday, January 22 ". <br />Therefore, we need to choose between Wednesday the 16th (Sharon isn't available) or <br />Tuesday the 22 ". Please bring your calendars so we can finalize the date. <br />The other item we need to finalize is citizen representation at the session, Last year we <br />had five citizens at large participate. You increased from three in 2011. You had <br />planned on six, but one was unable to attend at the last minute. You also indicated that <br />two years was a reasonable time to serve in this capacity. (From 12/21/11 Minutes) <br />The following people have served as our citizen representatives: <br />Nick Schwalbach — 2011 <br />Ron Horwath — 2011 & 2012 <br />Terry Jansen — 2011 & 2012 <br />Gib Coleman - 2012 <br />Steve Ledin - 2012 <br />Rita Mills — 2012 <br />If you follow the two year limitation (that is a policy decision for you to make), then <br />three openings are available (Nick Schwalbach has been appointed to the Planning <br />Commission so I'm assuming he would no longer qualify as a "citizen at large "). We had <br />a number of applicants for commissions and last year, we utilized some of the people <br />
