<br />The low bidder on the project was Ryan Contracting, Inc. with a Base Bid of $884,219.20. Ramsey
<br />Washington Metro Watershed District will pay for approximately $120,000 of the contraction costs. The
<br />District has approved an expenditure of up to $240,000 for project costs related to the Ditch 7A
<br />improvements,
<br />The bid also included five alternates. The low bidder presented these deducts as follows:
<br />Alternate No. 1 — Replace concrete pipe with plastic pipe
<br />Alternate No. 2 — Replace sod with seed (hydroseed)
<br />Aitcrnatc, Nu. 3 — lusulate Instead of replacing water main
<br />Alternate No. 4 — Replace quarry with recycled aggregate base

<br />These bids have been reviewed and found to be in order. We are familiar with Ryan Contracting and
<br />consider them to be reputable and fully capable of performing quality work in an expedient manner. We
<br />therefore recommend that the project be awarded to Ryan Contracting, Inc. for the Base Bid amount of
<br />$884,219,20, In addition, we recommend that Alternate Bid No, 4 be accepted, and that Alternate Bid No.
