COMMUNITY INCLUSION CONCEPT
It is important for this project to be regarded as a community project done for the
community and by the community. The Wall Companies hopes to be a leading team
member in this process. In order to facilitate this process of community inclusion,
we propose that the following activities be initiated as a part of this project:
Provide ongoing communication on the progress of the development.
• Press
• City Council /Open Forums
Institute a community "Name the Plaza" campaign
• To further involve the community in the "ownership" of the project,
we recommend launching a "Name the Plaza" campaign. The winner
would receive a community award and announcement in the Press.
This campaign would help establish the entire "community project"
atmosphere for the redevelopment area.
Business to Business Communications
• The Wall Companies will keep an open line of communication with
existing businesses in the downtown area. We will work to assure
downtown merchants that the incoming businesses will only increase
traffic into the area and generate more revenue for everyone.
Page 12
