Wendt, Division Manager 860 Government Center West 50 West Kellogg Boulevard St. Paul, MN 55102 -1693 March 18, 1997 To whom it may concern: Fax: 612-266-2066 Enclosed is a list of properties which forfeited to the State of Minnesota, "Trust Exempt" on August 31, 1996, for non - payment of real estate taxes. These parcels have been declared non - conservation lands by Resolution No. 97 -086 of the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners, dated March 11, 1997. A copy is enclosed. Approval by local government of the classification and sale of tax forfeited lands is required by Minnesota Statute Annotated 282.01 subd 1. "The town board or the governing body of the municipality will be deemed to approve the classification or reclassification and sale. If the county board is not notified of the disapproval of the classification or reclassification and sale within 90 days of the date, the request for approval will be submitted to the town board or governing body of the municipality. If the town board or governing body desires to acquire any parcel lying in the town or municipality by procedures authorized in the subdivision, it shall within 90 days of the request for classification or reclassification and sale, file a written application with the County Board to withhold the parcel from public sale. The County Board shall then withhold the parcel from public sale for one year." (Notice must be received no later than June 16, 1997.) Enclosed is a list of parcels in your city.
