JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />AGREEMENT made this day of , 1997 between the City <br />of Maplewood, Minnesota, hereinafter referred to as Maplewood, and the City of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota, hereinafter referred to as Little Canada, pursuant to Minnesota Statute Section <br />47139. <br />1. General Purpose. The general purpose of this agreement is to facilitate the control and <br />regulation of the use of the waters of Lake Gervais lying within the cities of Maplewood <br />and Little Canada in Ramsey County, all for the safety and general welfare of the public <br />utilizing said waters. <br />11. Methods. Maplewood and Little Canada have each adopted an ordinance they deem <br />appropriate to implement the general purposes referred to herein. These ordinances are <br />similar in nature so as to provide uniformity in enforcement and regulation. <br />Enforcement Duties. <br />A. Each city shall be responsible for providing adequate notification to the public, <br />which shall include the placement of a sign at each public access within their <br />respective boundaries. <br />B. The Ramsey County Sheriffs Department is hereby authorized and entitled to <br />enforce the provisions of any regulations or ordinances adopted pursuant to this <br />agreement. <br />N. Termination. Either party may terminate this agreement by giving ninety (90) days <br />advance written notice to the other party of its intention to do so. •'Furthermore, this <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />Page 15 <br />
