AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />CITY OF MAPLEWOOD <br />AND <br />CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into as of the day of <br />1997, by and between the City of Maplewood, a municipal corporation of the State of <br />Minnesota, hereinafter referred to as MAPLEWOOD, and the City of Little Canada, a <br />municipal corporation of the State of Minnesota, hereinafter referred to as LITTLE <br />CANADA. <br />Sanitary Sewer Billing <br />Maplewood agrees to have Little Canada perform the billing, collection, and <br />customer service functions for residential and commercial sanitary sewer services to <br />those properties where Little Canada supplies water service. The designation of each <br />account as either residential or commercial will be determined by Maplewood and <br />provided to Little Canada. <br />Little Canada will bill Maplewood residential and commercial sanitary sewer <br />customers based on water consumed on a volume basis. All residential and <br />commercial accounts will be billed on the same cycle as established by Little Canada <br />for water billing purposes. A minimum sewer charge will be billed to any account when <br />there is no water consumption and when no notice to shut off or discontinue water <br />service has been received by Little Canada. Little Canada will also bill any <br />miscellaneous charges, where applicable, based on rates determined by Maplewood. <br />Rates <br />The residential and nonresidential rates for sanitary sewer service shall be <br />$1.91 per 1,000 gallons. There shall be a minimum charge of $2.67 monthly for each <br />sewer service connection billed on a monthly basis, and a minimum charge of $8.00 <br />quarterly for each sewer service connection billed on a quarterly basis. These rates <br />will be revised from time to time by the Maplewood City Council. <br />Flow Calculations <br />The sanitary sewer service charges for one- and two - family dwellings for the <br />billing year shall be determined by the amount of water consumed during the winter <br />quarter. The winter quarter is the first three months prior to the first billing of the year. <br />If actual meter readings are not available for the winter quarter, then an estimate shall <br />be made based on the size of the dwelling, number of occupants, comparison with <br />other dwellings, or any other equitable and reasonable method as determined by Little <br />Canada. <br />Page 103 <br />
