MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JUNE 12, 1997 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Plannin <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 12' <br />day of June, 1997 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chairman Gene DeLonais called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and the <br />following members of the Commission were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Gene DeLonais <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Dennis Carson <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Fred Schletty <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Dan Licht, City Planner <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer, Admin. Assistant <br />MINUTES There being no corrections to the minutes of the May 8, 1997 meeting <br />those minutes stood approved as read. <br />VARIANCE <br />FOR SIGN <br />HEIGHT - <br />3180 <br />COUNTRY <br />DRIVE <br />Mr. Walter Johnson, owner of the property at 3180 Country Drive, <br />appeared before the Commission requesting approval of a variance <br />for sign height. Mr. Johnson reported that there is currently a sign <br />on the roof of the building at 3180 Country Drive. The roof is leaking, <br />and Johnson indicated that he needs to get it repaired. Johnson <br />indicated that he is proposing to remove the signage from the roof and <br />install the same sign on pylons a few feet to the south of the building. <br />Johnson indicated that his intention was to retain the signage on the pylons <br />and not return the signs to the roof once repairs are completed. Johnson <br />pointed out that the Planner's report references new signage. Johnson <br />indicated that he is proposing to move the existing signs, not erect new <br />signs. <br />The City Planner indicated that he was of the impression that the existing <br />signs would be replaced with new signage. This is the reason that his <br />report recommends that the freestanding sign be limited to a maximum of <br />Page 13 <br />
