LITTLE CANADA PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT 515 Little Canada Road / Little Canada, MN 55117.1600 Telephone: (612) 484 -2177 / Fax: 484-4538 August 13, 1997 JIM MORELAN, Director DON BOWMAN, Program Coordinator DEREK ANDERSON, Program Coordinator TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council FROM: Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director RE: Applicants to the Parks & Recreation Commission Muriel Bianchi of the Parks & Recreation Commission and I met with four of the five applicants for the Parks & Recreation Commission. We did not meet with Howard Remerowski because we felt everyone concerned was familiar with him as a result of his former membership on the Commission. Muriel and I agreed that all of the applicants are very qualified for the Commission. Any one of them would bring an individual expertise to the Commission which would be very beneficial. In addition, all seem to be genuinely interested in serving the community. We felt the process of bringing these applicants in to discuss their ideas and to inform them of the Commission's role in our City government was a very positive step. Many different types of questions were asked by the applicants, and we feel each of them now has a very good understanding of what is expected of them and what their contributions might be, Had there been any reservations regarding any applicant's commitment to want to serve on the Commission, we feel that would have become evident during our discussion. All applicants seemed very interested. In summary, we believe that each of the five applicants would be a very good Park & Recreation Commission member. We are very fortunate to have the present field of candidates.
