However, Minn. Stat. §461.12, Subd. 4, <br />entitled "Minors ", also provides as follows: <br />The licensing authority shall consult with interested <br />educators, parents, children, and representatives of <br />the court system to develop alternative penalties for <br />minors who purchase, possess, and consume tobacco. The <br />licensing authority and the interested person shall <br />consider a variety of options, including, but not <br />limited to, tobacco free education programs, notice to <br />schools, parents, community service, and other court <br />diversion programs. (Chapter 227, Sec. 4, Subd. 4) <br />I am not sure that the addition of this language to the tobacco <br />products ordinance would be beneficial. <br />Page 23 <br />P. 2 <br />
