51.5 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 551174600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
www.ci.l ittle- canada.mn.us
MAYOR
Bill Blesener
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
John Keis
Michael McGraw
Shelly Boss
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Blesener & Members of City Council
FROM: Bill Dircks, Public Works Superintendent
DATE: February 6, 2013
RE: Street Sweeping Policy
The City of Little Canada has had its street sweeper for three years now and has been
able to set up a good sweeping schedule. Now that it is known what the sweeper can do
and how often it can be used staff has put together a street sweeping policy to cover when
sweeping is performed and why. It should be noted that the City shares the sweeper with
Falcon Heights so the window for sweeping in the spring and fall is much larger due to
Falcon Heights needing to sweep at the same time each year. Falcon Heights sweeps first
during odd years and Little Canada sweeps first during even years.
The policy covers the different types of sweeping performed in the City each year and
how and when that sweeping is accomplished.
Staff recommends the City Council adopt the Street Sweeping Policy.
1
