LITTLE CANADA
PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT
515 Little Canada Road / Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
Telephone: (612) 484 -2177 / Fax: 484 -4538
December 12, 1997
JIM MORELAN, Director
DON BOWMAN, Program Coordinator
DEREK ANDERSON, Program Coordinator
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director
RE: Bocce Ball Courts
At the December 3`d meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission, the subject of
bocce ball courts was again discussed at length. All aspects were thoroughly discussed.
The end result was a motion to take no further action at this time regarding bocce ball
courts. The motion was carried 7 to 0.
It is my understanding that the primary reason the Commission did not recommend
constructing a court on City property was because of lack of sufficient demand at the
present time and the fact that there is an existing court that is able to serve the demand
that presently exists. The minutes of the Parks & Recreation Commission meeting will
not be completed in time to include in this agenda packet. When they are complete they
will explain the Commission members' individual thoughts on the subject.
I intend to monitor any additional interest from our residents and forward same to the
Commission in the future.
cc: Parks & Recreation Commission
Page 64
