515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: November 21, 1997
RE: Local Planning Assistance Grant
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Attached is an agreement with the Metropolitan Council for a local planning assistance grant in
the amount of $6,890. A proposed work program is attached to this grant agreement which
shows total expenditures of $30,700 upon which we based our application for $20,000 in grant
funds. Given the fact that they have only funded $6,890, I am not comfortable recommending
this grant agreement at this time showing the full work program.
Steve Grittman is discussing this matter with the Metropolitan Council and is asking that our
work program be reduced to reflect the amount of the grant or the grant award be increased. If
either of those things happen by Wednesday evening, we will report on that and make a
recommendation accordingly. If we are not successful in that endeavor, I would like to remove
this item from the agenda. You will also note that this is under the consent agenda. Therefore, it
is likely we will have to remove this from the consent agenda to consider it separately given the
problems we are experiencing.
JRH:kpv
Enclosure
Page 138
