Hanson <br />A few months ago, the City entered into an agreement with <br />Environment and Energy Resource Center (EERC) to analyze possible <br />revisions to the Little Canada City Hall and Public Works <br />buildings that would yield energy savings and be eligible for <br />participation in NSP's rebate and 0% interest loan financing <br />program. Since that time, evaluations of both facilities have <br />been conducted. After considerable review and discussion, the <br />following work program is recommended to the Council for <br />implementation: <br />* Lighting fixture retrofit - This will involve the <br />replacement of all relevant lamps and ballasts with new <br />energy efficient models at City Hall and Public Works. <br />* The three gas furnaces installed at City Hall with the <br />original building are to be replaced with new systems <br />that are at least 90% efficient. <br />An alternate has been included with the furnace system <br />to provide for humidification of the building. <br />The three oldest air conditioner compressors at City <br />Hall are to be replaced with newer, more energy <br />efficient models. <br />* Installation of window film on upper lobby windows to <br />reduce solar heat and UV rays. <br />Competitive quotations will be received for this work. Not all <br />of the project costs are eligible under the NSP program. For <br />those portions not eligible, we will use the General Capital <br />Improvement Fund to address these expenditures within 1996 <br />budgeted amounts. (We have budgeted $13,000 for furnace and air <br />conditioner replacement.) The majority of program costs will be <br />Page 47 <br />
