Hanson
RE: Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy for Safety Sensitive
Employees
Attached for your review is our Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy
for Safety Sensitive Drivers pursuant to the Code of Federal
Regulations, Title 49, Part 382 which has stated that effective
January 1, 1996 all employees with a commercial driver's license
(CDL) and who operate a commercial motor vehicle are to be tested
for drug and alcohol use according to these regulations. I
recommend that this Drug and Alcohol Policy be added to Section
21 of our Personnel Policy in addition to our current Alcohol and
Psychoactive Drug Policy. This Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy
covers only our safety sensitive drivers, that is, employees with
current commercial driver's licenses.
If you have any questions prior to Wednesday's meeting, please
feel free to contact me.
ST:bj
Page 51
