Fahey <br />COUNCIL <br />Beverly Scalze <br />Jim LaValle <br />Steve Morelan <br />Bob Pedersen <br />ADMINISTRATOR <br />Joel R. Hanson <br />The Parks & Recreation Commission made several recommendations <br />regarding the City's trail system at their February meeting which <br />require Council action. Below is a summary of those <br />recommendations (minutes are attached): <br />- Recommending that the proposed trail from Payne Avenue west <br />to Edgerton Street and from Edgerton Street west to Desoto <br />Avenue and south on Desoto Avenue to Pioneer Park be <br />abandoned; <br />- Recommending that the City Engineer and /or Park Consultant <br />explore ISTEA funding for a pedestrian bridge over 35E at <br />Demont Avenue or another suitable location; <br />- Recommending that the striping of Payne Avenue and DeSoto <br />Avenue, and any other pertinent areas in the City, <br />designating an area for pedestrian and bicycle traffic be <br />investigated; <br />- Recommending that the trail from the Water Works property to <br />Jackson Street and from Jackson Street to Australian and <br />Lakeshore Avenues be completed in conjunction with any <br />future road improvements; <br />Recommending that a cost estimate be obtained for completing <br />the Water Works trail east of McMenemy with wood chips. <br />Page 86 <br />
