/ -3D
Schact replied that the only guard rail planned is adjacent to the
culverts for Ditch #16.
John Schwabach asked if telephone poles would be relocated.
Schact replied that approximately 10 would be relocated.
Karolyn Kingsbury asked about burying utility lines.
The City Administrator reported that NSP passes the cost of burying
lines onto the property owners. Past inquiries have shown that it
is not cost - effective to the property owners to have the lines
buried. However, the City can contact NSP for estimates for this
project, if desired.
Schact continued his section review, and pointed out that from the
Kohlman channel to County Road C most of the work involves
widening. No tree removal in this area.
A property owner pointed out that the adjacent properties in this
area are steep.
Schact replied that the County knows this area is tight, and has
had projects in similar areas. The County believes it can put the
improvement in within the existing right -of -way. Schact reported
that the right -of -way does not extend into the lake, and the County
has no plans for any filling along the lake. The entire project
can be accommodated within the right -of -way which is 66 feet in
width. Schact pointed out that the road and shoulder are proposed
at 32 feet in width, therefore, 16 feet is needed on either side of
the centerline. The County Surveyor will be doing some additional
work in the area to mark the boundary of the right -of -way.
Schact pointed out that the last areas call for street widening and
no tree removal.
A resident asked if this area would remain no parking.
Schact replied that the County has no plans to change the existing
parking situation. Any change in that regard would be determined
by the City.
Karolyn Kingsbury asked what will happen with the Spoon Lake
bridge.
Schact replied that the bridge will
plans to apply for Federal funds to
ISTEA Grant Program. The bridge is
resulting in only a difference of 2
width.
stay in place. The County has
rebuild the bridge through the
currently 30 feet wide
feet from the proposed road
Schact reported that he has received a letter dated January 25th
3
Page 84
