Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
As you know, the Belland application for rear yard setback
variance was tabled until your December 18th meeting since
Belland Auto was attempting to negotiate the purchase of the
adjacent Stanke property. Belland's Auto has informed the City
that these negotiations have not proven to be successful.
Belland's has now reported that they are currently negotiating
the purchase of a strip of adjacent property from NSP. NSP has
indicated their willingness to sell this property, and it is
Belland's feeling it is only a matter of time to finalize the
necessary paperwork. Once the transaction is concluded,
Belland's would have the necessary property to put an addition
onto their building without the need for a variance.
Therefore, it is staff's recommendation that the pending
application for rear yard setback variance be denied at this
time. Belland's Auto has been informed of this recommendation.
cc: Belland's Auto
Page 33
