Muriel Bianchi
515 Viking Dr. E.
Little Canada, MN. 55117
August 8, 1996
(612) 787-0166
Little Canada Parks and Recreation Commission
515 E. Little Canada Rd.
Little Canada, MN. 55117
Attn: Kris
Dear Kris,
I am writing to apply for the position on the Parks and Recreation
Commission. My name is Muriel Bianchi, and my husband, Jim, and I
live in Little Canada, with our four children, ages 13, 11, 6, and 4. We
have participated in the programs offered by the city and have been very
impressed by their quality and diversity. The reason I would like to
serve on this commission is that we plan to live here indefinitely and I
would like to be involved in the decision- making process that will
maintain and enhance the desirability of our community.
I am a Special Education Teacher, with a Master's Degree in Speech
and Language Communication. I have worked in the public school
system in San Diego, Ca. for over ten years, serving both regular and
special education children. In San Diego, I worked closely with the
Parks and Recreation System with pre- school programs and Special
Olympics. We moved to Ramsey County two and one -half years ago.
I am at home now with the children and I volunteer at RAMS Middle
School several times a week with their Special Education program.
One of the reasons we moved to this area is that my husband, Jim, was
born and raised in Falcon Heights, and he was convinced that Ramsey
County had a good school system and was a good place to raise children.
After being here two and one -half years now and observing the school
system and community first hand, I heartily agree.
Page 91
