Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
At the last Council meeting, I was authorized to proceed with
construction of a two -sided ID sign for City Hall. I was to have
lettering placed on the brick identifying the structure as the
City Center. In discussing this matter at the staff level, we
also felt that our address should be placed on this sign so that
we are conforming with our street address ordinance.
I discussed this matter with Bill Sanders and he prepared the
following options for your consideration:
* As designed - This is the layout that has been
previously reviewed.
* Option 1A - Instructions from City Council as I
understood them.
* Option 1B - Instructions from City Council modified to
include the street address.
Option 2 - Places the wording "City Center" in the pre-
cast portion of the sign to make it more visible.
Requires the eliminating of the "Settled in 1844"
language.
* Option 3 - Putting both "City Center" and our address
in the pre -cast portion of the sign.
* Option 4 - Substitutes the wording "City Hall" in the
precast portion of the sign with our street address on
the brick facia at the highest level possible.
A concern exists about lettering on the brick facia portion of
the sign given its limited height and the opportunity for
obstruction. This concern resulted in placing the key
identifying components in the pre -cast portion of the sign. A
Page 42
