Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Livable Communities Action Plan
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Sca lze
Jim LaValle
Steve Moreton
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Attached is the proposed Livable Communities Action Plan required
to be enacted by July 1st and submitted to the Metropolitan
Council. This plan is necessary in order to maintain our
eligibility for the various grant programs offered. The Planner
has put this together based on documents done for other
communities and information generated from our Comp Plan as well
as additional comments from staff.
Given the fact that we meet or exceed all of the critical
benchmarks for the Livable Communities Program, this plan should
fulfill Met Council guidelines. As the plan indicates, revisions
will be necessary over time to take advantage of opportunities as
they arise.
Adoption of the attached resolution is hereby recommended.
It should be noted that we contacted numerous roofing companies
about this work and while they initially expressed interest, no
one submitted quotes by the specified time. I have been informed
by various roofers as well as other contractors that this is a
very busy season, which explain this situation.
Page 101
