JUN -20 -1996 12:48 MAC
ADMINISTRATION
Little Canada is a nearly completely developed
community. As such, the housing market will be
the primary driving force behind what types of
housing is constructed, rehabilitated and
redeveloped within the community. Pursuit of
housing activities will be based primarily upon
pending applications or the requests of private
parties, If these requests are found by the City to
be consistent with established community goals
and policies of the Comprehensive Plan, the City
will grant its support and assistance the private
sector efforts.
The Little Canada City Administrator will be the
primary official responsible for overseeing the
implementation of the Action Plan. This activity is
likely to include the completion of grant and
program applications, reporting of housing related
information and acting as a resource contact for
community residents, property owners and
potential developers.
TIME FRAME
As the City currently complies with regional
housing benchmarks and the focus of City housing
activity being reactive to housing needs, no formal
numerical goals for assisted housing, housing
programs, etc. will be established. Considering the
nearly fully developed nature of the City, changes
in the housing needs of the community will likely
be gradual over a period of many years. Thus, the
Action Plan will likely be effective at addressing
the housing needs of the community for several
years.
In order for this plan to be most effective, it is
anticipated that the document will need to be
examined and updated from time to time. As part
612 595 9837 P.17
PAGE 14
of any future Comprehensive Planning process,
this plan should be reexamined, along with housing
elements of the Comprehensive Plan. Additional
updates of this plan may be required in the interim
as new housing issues may present themselves At
a minimum, the Action Plan should be updated at
least every five years.
CrIT ok Lrrrui CANADA
Page 118
Houma ACTTONPLAN
