Rusty Fifield is doing an analysis whereby he makes use of excess
tax increment proceeds in various districts to assist us in
assembling sites with minimal financial exposure. This option
should allow us to acquire some selected parcels within a limited
budget. While we need to have the appraisal process completed
before we can enter into negotiations, I feel this opportunity
would show property owners that we are serious about acquisition
and allow to acquire those parcels where willing sellers
presently exist.
Appraisal Update
The last item to be discussed is the status of the appraisal
process. The City Attorney will be present to update the Council
on this redevelopment component. It should be noted that while
we have experienced some unexpected delays in this regard, we are
still making progress in the preparation of the RFP.
I am looking forward to reviewing the various possibilities we
have facing us at Wednesday's workshop. If you have any comments
or questions in the meantime, please feel free to give me a call.
