810.090. TAXICAB FARES. The Council may by resolution regulate <br />minimum and maximum fares for all taxicabs licensed under this ordinance and <br />such regulated fares shall take effect ten (10) days after the City Clerk has <br />mailed copies of said resolution to all taxicab licensees. <br />810.100. REVOCATION. Any taxicab license may be revoked by the City <br />Council at any time for cause, and may be revoked for any of the following <br />reasons, after a public hearing and after giving five (5) days notice of said <br />hearing to the holder of such license: <br />1. Failure of any operator for thirty (30) days to pay any final <br />judgment against him for damages arising out of the <br />operation of said taxicab; <br />2. Whenever an operator shall fail to operate any such licensed <br />taxicab for a period of thirty (30) days, unless prevented <br />by an emergency over which he has no control. <br />810.110. UNLAWFUL PURPOSES. It shall be unlawful for any taxicab to <br />be used or permitted to be used for any unlawful purpose, or to take or <br />transport any person to any place for any unlawful act. <br />810.120. DRIVER'S PERMIT REQUIRED; DISPLAY. No person shall drive a <br />taxicab unless and until he has obtained a taxicab driver's permit as provided <br />herein. <br />1. Application for driver's permit shall be made to the City <br />Clerk on a form -of application provided by the City. <br />2. The fee for a driver's permit shall be Ten Dollars ($10.00) <br />per calendar year or any portion thereof, except that no fee <br />will be charged if the driver has a valid permit from <br />another municipality within the Metropolitan Area. This <br />permit fee may be changed by resolution of the City Council <br />when deemed necessary. <br />3. Whenever any taxicab driver holding a permit changes his <br />address, he shall notify the City Clerk within five (5) days <br />of such change. <br />4. The driver's permit shall also have on its face a photograph <br />of the driver and shall be displayed in a prominent place in <br />the passenger part of the vehicle. <br />5. The driver's permit shall be displayed to any police officer <br />upon request. <br />810.130. PENALTIES. Every person convicted of a violation of any of <br />the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than <br />Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment for a period of not more <br />than ninety (90) days, or b< " but in either case the costs of prosecution <br />may be added. <br />104 <br />(Source: Ord. 105; A_._a„eu, 159) <br />102 <br />
